Job Description

Our Customer Service Administrators in our Hallam Help team are important student facing roles for Sheffield Hallam’s Student Support Service. Critically important roles, which are essential to ensure that our students receive the best customer service possible. The service provided in these roles is vital to the success of the University’s annual National Student Survey (NSS) results.

You will be handling enquiries via email, telephone, face to face on Help Points and live webchat. Hallam Help are the first point of contact for services including Wellbeing, student funding, disability and international.

The role is varied throughout the student year and student lifecycle. There may be opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement and project work. Most of your working week will be spent working on campus between our City and Collegiate campuses. We endeavour to offer the opportunity for hybrid working but this is predominantly an on-campus role.

The team

The Student Help and Advice Team is the front face of SHU Student Support Services. We offer self-help services as well as virtual and face-to-face support.

The Student Help and Advice Team is made up of:
Hallam Help, the first point of contact for all student related enquiries. They support students to find the information that they need and help them to understand University processes and services as well as triaging students to access specialist support services.
Student Transition and Welfare, available to help and advise students when difficulties arise affecting their ability to study. Assisting students in accessing specialist services when they need them.
