With funding received from Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council, we can now confirm The Cohesion Fund is live!
The Cohesion Fund is designed to bring all sections of our community closer together, to build stronger relationships across our communities and a sense of belonging in Rotherham. The funding is a Community Grants Scheme to enable community groups to design and deliver their own solutions to achieving improved community cohesion throughout Rotherham. The Cohesion Fund is intended to reach adults and focus on activities that bring people from different backgrounds together, that promote constructive discussion or resources on the topic of community cohesion and instil a sense of pride and belonging in Rotherham. The funding aims to improve understanding of difference, to explore and celebrate similarities and to stimulate positive relations beyond traditional boundaries.
Organisations applying for funding must demonstrate the need for the funding in order to meet the aims of the fund and state what difference the funding will make. (The funding should be used to deliver new and innovative community cohesion projects and not to supplement existing funded provision)
The fund can support successful community groups with grants of £5,000 - £15,000 per project. Voluntary Action Rotherham is administering this fund, on behalf of Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council.
