Mayor’s Charity Ball – 21st March 2025
John Campbell and Elaine Senior are organising a ball, on behalf of the Mayor of Rotherham, Councillor Sheila Cowan, to raise funds for her chosen charities.
The Mayor has chosen the following charities to support in 2024/25:
Help 4 Homeless Veterans (Charity No 1148155) provides support for veterans facing homelessness, by working with private landlords and housing associations to provide help and support to members of the Armed Forces community and assist to improve the lives of veterans in need.
The Rotherham Hospice Trust (Charity No 700356) provides excellence in care for adults throughout Rotherham affected by a terminal illness. Dedicated staff and volunteers provide palliative care to help patients, and their families achieve the very best quality of life, both at home and in the Hospice.
The Common Lands of Rotherham Charity (Charity No 223050) is Rotherham’s oldest charity, established in the early part of the 14th century. Present charitable work consists of two main areas: support for the disadvantaged throughout Rotherham and provision of educational scholarships and bursaries.
Roundabout Ltd (Charity No 1061313) is a local youth housing charity providing shelter, support and life skills to young people aged 16 to 25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The service offers a pathway to young people to gain independent living skills and to be supported to achieve their goals and aspirations.
The ball is being held on Friday 21st March in the 1925 suite at New York Stadium, Rotherham and the dress code will be lounge suits. There will be a three-course meal, entertainment, an auction and a tombola.
The menu will be:
Starter: Vegetable Soup
Main course: Roast Chicken Supreme, Dauphinoise Potato, French Beans, Sage & Lemon Butter Sauce
Vegetarian option: Wild Mushroom Arancini, Toasted Almonds, Rich Tomato Sauce (pre-ordered only)
Dessert: Strawberry, Basil & White Chocolate Cheesecake
We are inviting you to take part in this heartwarming event in one (or more) of the following ways:
Attend the event by buying either individual tickets at £45 per person, or by buying a table of 10 for £400.
Donate to the tombola – physical items, vouchers, and/or experiences of any type will be welcome. We can arrange to collect the items if required.
Sponsoring the event - £250 will secure you 2 places at the event & your logo on all promotional materials; £500 will secure you 6 places at the event & your log on all promotional materials.
